Websitebuilder is a website builder for nurseries, provided by Famly. This page explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are under GDPR.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address, nursery name, and an encrypted password.
- Website content: the text, images, and settings you add to your site.
- Contact requests: messages you send us (e.g. to request a custom domain).
- Basic technical data: browser type and timestamps, used to keep the service running and secure.
Why we collect it
- To let you sign in and save your work.
- To publish the website you create at a shareable URL.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To understand how the tool is used so we can improve it.
Who can see your data
Your site content is associated with your account. Famly staff can see it for support and to operate the service. A site published at its shareable URL is publicly visible — that's the point of a website. Don't put confidential information on the public site.
Where it's stored
Data is stored in our managed cloud backend (Supabase) on European servers.
Your rights
You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time. Contact us at privacy@famly.co.
Children's images & GDPR
If you upload photos of children, ensure you have parental consent per GDPR Article 8. Some specifics for nurseries using Websitebuilder:
- You are the data controller for any child photos you upload. Famly acts as a data processor — we host the images so your site can display them, and we don't use them for anything else.
- We strongly recommend keeping written parental consent on file for every child whose face appears on your public site, in line with GDPR Article 8 and the UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018.
- Uploaded images are stored as part of your site record in our European cloud backend. Removing a photo from your dashboard removes it from the public site immediately; deleting your site or account removes the underlying files.
- If a parent withdraws consent or asks for a removal, take the image down from your dashboard straight away. If you need help, contact privacy@famly.co.
Cookies
We only use cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and remember your editor state. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
